National Endowment for the Arts Announces $50,000 Grant to Under the Elevated

Under the Elevated: Reclaiming Space, Connecting Communities will engage community leaders, planners, architects, artists, and cultural organizations to develop strategies to maximize the function, use, and spatial qualities of the millions of square feet of space underneath NYC's bridges, and elevated highways, subways, and rail lines--- from dark, litter-strewn expanses of parking under the BQE to arched gateways beneath the 1 train in Harlem.

Four shows will run two nights each throughout the week of May 19–26.

GradComD student Michael Silber's thesis "Digital Humor Theory" got a write up in Gizmodo.

Remember when you were in preschool, sitting around in a circle, whispering a message from person to person until it reached the last kid in the chain and was completely different? As part of his "Digital Humor Theory" thesis, Pratt Institute graduate student Michael J. Silber did just that with Siri's text-to-voice and Google's voicemail transcription services—50 times in a row.

Come and intern with the Quinn for New York campaign. The campaign is looking for bright, energetic individuals who want to learn the nuts and bolts of how a campaign works, and help elect the next Mayor of New York City.

Hours are completely flexible with a small requirement, and the Quinn Campaign team is a lot of fun. No experience necessary. You will walk out the door at the end of the internship knowing how to run a local field program, as well as having met some really great friends.
